My desk setup
A friend recently asked me what I use for my desk setup, so I figured I'd
write it up. My priority is having something portable and ergonomic — I
want to be able to work comfortably from anywhere without lugging around a
ton of gear. Here's what I use.
Roost V3 Laptop Stand

The Roost V3 is a lightweight, portable
laptop stand that raises your screen to eye level. It folds down small enough
to toss in a backpack, but it's sturdy enough to hold any laptop. Getting my
screen up high makes a huge difference for my neck and posture, especially
during long work sessions.
It's also available on
Amazon.
iClever BK06 Foldable Keyboard

The iClever BK06 is a foldable Bluetooth keyboard
that's incredibly compact. It folds in half and fits in a pocket. The split
layout is actually really comfortable for typing, and it connects to up to
three devices so I can switch between my laptop, tablet, and phone. The
battery lasts forever — I charge it maybe once a month.
Logitech MX Ergo S Trackball Mouse

The Logitech MX Ergo S is a wireless trackball
mouse. Once you get used to a trackball, you never go back. Your hand just
rests in place and your thumb does the work. It's way more ergonomic than a
regular mouse, and since you don't need to move the mouse around, it works
great on small surfaces like coffee shop tables. The 20-degree tilt puts your
wrist in a really natural position.
The full setup
Together, these three things give me a comfortable, ergonomic workstation
that fits in my backpack. The Roost gets my screen up, the keyboard and
trackball keep my hands at desk level, and everything is wireless and
portable. If you're looking for a travel-friendly setup, I'd highly recommend
all three.
